Title: Home of Closed Landfill Now Aims for Smell of Fine Wine (1 of 2)
Hints: Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens, Tuscan Garden Vineyard Project,James Molinaro, Finger Lakes, Long Island
Key Points: borough, vineyard

For years, most of the household waste collected in America's largest city went to a landfill on Stet island. Staten island is one of the five boroughs that form the city of New York. The others are the Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, and Queens.
The landfill closed in 2001. Now local leaders hope Staten island will be known for something else – fine wines. Officials expect to break ground before summer for the Tuscan Gargen Vineyard Project. Wine grapes will be planted on most of one hectare in the Staten Island Botanical Garden.
Borough president James Molinaro has set aside one and one half million dollars for the vineyard. Officials say the project will be educational and non-profit. It will demonstrate the process of growing grapes and making wine. It could bring visitors who now ride the Staten Island ferry from Manhattan just to see the Statue of Liberty in New York harbour.
Organizer say the climate is similar to other wine making areas of New York State, like the Finger Lakes area and Long Island. For years, people have suggested that Staten Island should have a vineyard.
Title: Disadvantaged Student Near Cape Town Excel in Music Program (2 of 3)
Hints: Leanne(人名), Oranjekloof(地名), marimbas(木琴), Djembe drumming, Mouth bow(乐器)
Key Points: racial segregation/apartheid

Through this effort, Leanne is also trying to address the inequality of the past. In the days of racial segregation or apartheid, black school children were not allowed to study music or creative subjects. Leanne visited a number of Hout Bay school to show how teaching music would broaden the children's career choices.
She even tried to convince a headmaster at the Oranjekloof primary school in Hout Bay. No one had ever taught music there, and he didn't believe the children will be interested or that Leanne would even return to teach it. She surprised all by coming back and arranging small classes.
The Hout Bay music program's first break came when they got a private donation of 15 violins. The instruments were shared among the growing number of children. Their next big donation of musical instruments came from Germany.
Leanne tell us about the growth of the project. “Today we have about 80 children, learning various instruments. We offer bass, cello, violin, and then we also do an African music program where we have incorporated marimbas and Djembe drumming and some of the other African instruments like Mouth bow and traditional instruments.”
